Cemetery variance appeal — 1397 Sheppard Street

A 32-year resident who lives at Ford and Sheppard, she opposed the cemetery, citing traffic, emotional impact, property values, setback distances from senior apartments, drainage from two underground springs and a creek, and a signed neighborhood petition. She asked the council to require an environmental study at the owner's expense or simply vote no.

He backed up Glenda Allons, saying the petition effort had to stop at 24–25 signatures because so many people wanted to sign, and argued the neighborhood's elderly residents simply want to keep their homes and watch their grandchildren grow up.
